Aberdeenshire is also castle country with dozens of historic castles and mansion houses open to the public. Balmoral – the famous Scottish home of the Royal Family – is close by, as is Craigievar Castle, famed for its distinctive pink façade.

The city of Aberdeen offers fantastic nightlife from lively bars to all-night casinos, and during the day you’ll find first-class visitor attractions, art galleries and shopping.
