New year and a new look for The Granite Suite
New year is often considered a time for regeneration and rejuvenation – and who are we to buck the trend? We held our final ballroom event of 2018 with our Hogmanay Shindig - and it was also our final event there for several months.
The Granite Suite – which has staged countless weddings, gala dinners, charity auctions, meetings and events – is going into temporary hibernation and will rebirth in the spring, bigger and better than it was before.
Guests can still expect the same exceptionally high standard of service that they’ve come to expect from the events team at The Chester Hotel, just on a much larger scale and in – if it was possible – in even more beautiful surroundings.
Those of you who have visited before will know that The Granite Suite, with its own dedicated private entrance and bar facilities, is one of the city’s leading event venues. The new and extended ballroom will allow for a maximum of 400 people in a drinks reception, 320 for a dinner dance, 340 for dinner, and 400 in a theatre setting.
Although we already had one of the largest venues in the city, we were receiving a huge number of enquiries from event organisers looking for exceptionally high-quality venues that could offer even more capacity.
The extension will give The Chester Hotel one of the biggest hotel event spaces in Aberdeen but just because we’re upgrading in size, it doesn’t mean that we only want to host large events.
The Granite Suite will still offer the same flexible format that it currently does, with a variety of different configurations for different sized groups. And, for very small events, we also have the Granite Balcony – ideal for parties of up to 24 – as well as our private dining rooms that hold eight guests.
