Summer 2020 is like no other and we’re moving alfresco from Wednesday 8 July.

Our open-sided marquee has a transparent roof, beautiful summer planting and - call us skeptical about summer – heaters throughout.

From 8 July we will be open from Wednesdays - Sundays to give everyone their fix of Chester style in a hygienic, sanitised and socially distanced manner.

We’ve devised a Summer 2020 Gallery menu which we’re calling The Blank Canvas and we’ll be serving food from noon with last orders at 9:00 pm. Last orders for drinks will be at 9:30 pm, before we close at 10:00 pm.

We’ve had to make a few changes and you’ll find we’ve introduced some new booking terms and conditions which we really need you to read as they form part of our booking conditions.

Cash is no longer king in Summer 2020 – its reign has been over thrown by contactless payments and card payments only.

You can ONLY make a booking online - which is in line with Scottish Government advice as we now have to keep a record of your contact details and your visit date. So, please do not come to the hotel hoping to get a table without a reservation.

Your booking will be for a fixed one hour and forty-five minute reservation to allow us to sanitise before subsequent guests – so set an alarm on your phone as if you’re late for your start time we won’t be able to extend your visit – we will still require the table back at the original time.

We hope to reopen the bars and restaurants on 18th July depending on the updated advice from the Scottish and UK Governments. We have yet to establish an opening date for our bedrooms but it is likely to be early August.

Things will look and feel different until we are into phase 4 of the relaxation of lockdown but we are committed to ensuring both our guests and team members are safe and secure. This will take precedence over speed and efficiency.

We have enhanced cleaning protocols, new methods of operating in all areas and we would ask that you work with us to ensure that we can all enjoy the gradual return to normality and to enjoy a great experience when you are with us.
